Increase in the theft of motorbikes in your area.

Good morning Calderdale,

We have seen a large increase in motorcycle thefts throughout the whole of Calderdale. We’re asking for any information that you may have to help catch these offenders.

These thefts have taken place through out the whole of Calderdale, but we have noticed a significant increase in the Elland area.

I ask that you please report any suspicious behaviour you believe to be related to these crimes.

We have found some bikes and managed to reunite them to their original owners, but would like all the help we can get to catch these offenders and put a stop to their crimes.

Please try to take some extra measures with your bike security with this current spate of theft of motorcycles. Use your steering lock, a disk lock, ground anchor and try to fit an after-market tracker on your bike to increase the chance of recovery.

You can submit information anonymously through the community alerts system or crime stoppers if you believe someone in your area to be of interest.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and please do not hesitate to get in contact if have any information or you would like some advice on how to protect your bike from these offenders.

Thank you and have a lovely weekend.
